I am an Integrative
Counsellor following largely a Humanistic approach.
I have experience working
alongside people with drug and alcohol issues, however I feel I am
able to offer experience on an individual basis.
I am a member of the British
Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), adhering to
their code of ethics. I have professional supervision and I am
committed to ongoing professional development.
I
work in an integrative and creative way drawing from numerous
theories and models including CBT, Gestalt, TA and Jung in order to
tailor the work I do to meet the specific needs of each individual
client.
WHAT IS
COUNSELLING?
Counselling
is a place to explore a difficulty you may be having, distress
you may be experiencing or perhaps your dissatisfaction with
life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose. Counselling is
a way of enabling choice or change or of reducing confusion. It
does not involve making decisions for you or telling you what
to do. I will not judge or exploit you in any way.
Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief
and
embarrassment can become very intense and counselling offers an
opportunity to explore them, with the possibility of making them
easier to understand.
WHO HAS COUNSELLING?
Anyone from any race,
gender, culture, sexuality,
faith or
religion can seek counselling on a non-judgemental, congruent and
empathic level.
WHAT YOU CAN
EXPECT FROM ME
Most importantly, I believe
is your own space and confidentiality to explore and express your
feelings. I believe we aren’t fixed, we all have the ability to
change, so I am here to listen and support you on your journey of
self-discovery.
I believe counselling to be
a joint venture in which we walk alongside each other. I am not
here to judge your or direct you.
As I am an Integrative
Counsellor, our work together can and may include
dreamwork, visualisations, talking, listening,
drawing, painting, playing, sandtray amongst other medium.
